CHALLENGE

Pvolve’s mobile apps have faced significant challenges, as indicated by their average rating of just 1 star on both the Play Store and App Store. User feedback raised concerns about the app's reliability and usability, making new users hesitant to subscribe and try the amazing fitness program. Given their available resources, the Pvolve Customer Experience team recommended that users explore the web platform as a more reliable alternative, emphasizing their commitment to providing the best possible experience for their customers, even though this limited members from enjoying a robust and comprehensive experience across all platforms.

CHALLENGE

Pvolve’s apps faced significant challenges, receiving overwhelmingly negative reviews with an average rating of just 1 star on both the Play Store and App Store. The poor ratings and feedback discouraged potential new users from subscribing, raising major concerns about the app's reliability and usability. The issues were so severe that the Pvolve Customer Experience team even advised users to avoid the app in favor of the web platform.

Mobile App Development

We developed a robust app that enables users to seamlessly access workouts, and track progress, while customizing the internal architecture and sourcing components to meet high design and performance standards. To further enhance stability and performance, we implemented monitoring systems to detect bottlenecksand slow-rendering views and established crash and performance alerts for proactive issue resolution.

Solution

We improved integration by adopting microservices for scalability, migrating to a more robust frontend framework, setting up a CI/CD pipeline for automated builds and deployments, automating QA processes to increase accuracy, and setting up detailed logging to monitor session flow. Additionally, we created a solution that tracks and saves progress independently of the streaming method, reducing backend workload. The app and business logic were refactored to optimize core components and enhance scalability. As a result of these improvements, the average app rating now hovers close to 5 stars.
